Roswell Alien Capital!

Roswell Alien, UFO MuseumRoswell Alien, The story about an UFO crash in 1947, at Roswell, New Mexico. However, our last stop in this well known town, is by far the best. On this particular occasion our grandson is along. The entire time, we spend together is precious, because he is quickly growing up before our eyes. Roswell is a busy town, sitting in an isolated section of the New Mexico desert. Main Street is in the town's center and the core of UFO enthusiast. Now any red-blooded alien believer knows the International UFO Museum is an absolute must. We decide to make it our first stop after finding a RV camping site.

Roswell Alien, UFO MuseumInside the museum, one has to suspend their doubts and just let your imagination guide you through the exhibits. Whether you are a believer or believe the whole idea of aliens is nonsense, you will enjoy sitting and conversing with the permanent residents. Our grandson decides to get the inside story from an interesting fellow sitting at one of the tables. Now cute as the displays are, the museums true function is gathering information on the UFO phenomenon.
On our trip,we were lucky enough to run actually into co-founder of the International UFO Museum, Glen Dennis. Many may have heard of Mr. Dennis from several television programs investigating the 1947 UFO crash at Roswell.
Much like the reports Mr. Dennis gave several UFO investigators, he also retold us the story of his part in the 1947 mysterious event. We found him a very serious type person and very creditable. Fortunately, we got the story firsthand and if nothing else it will make a person think about the possibility of life outside our corner of the universe.
Should you be traveling to Roswell via RV, be aware most points of interest are in the downtown area. Parking on Main Street would be difficult close to the museum. Be prepared to park a couple of blocks or more away and walk. Along with the museum there are numerous gift shops handling unique UFO souvenirs.

The Jim Ragsdale Crash Site!

SPECIAL NOTE: Jim Ragsdale's account of a separate UFO crash on the same day (July 4, 1947) follows.

James "Jim" Ragsdale died on July 1, 1995. Shortly before he gave the following story to UFO investigators. These accounts are noted, signed, and notarized before his death. Since it was the Fourth of July weekend, and Mr. Ragsdale had several days off work, he and a girlfriend decide to camp near Boy Scout Mountain. They drove up Pine Lodge Road and onto a gravel road heading into a camping site.

Roswell Alien, Tree's that were knocked downThe pair were supposedly drinking beer and "making out" on quilts in the bed of Mr. Ragsdale's truck. Around 11:30 on the night of the Fourth, according to Mr. Ragsdale "All hell broke loose." They saw a flash and bright explosion, then a noise similar to thunder. Suddenly an object comes mowing through trees taking off their tops in the process. When it finally hits the ground this object stops between two large rocks. Mr. Ragsdale states, the object size to be about twenty feet in diameter.
All this takes place, about 60 yards from the pickup Mr. Ragsdale and his girlfriend were watching from. He states, they approach the disc-type thing and see a large hole in one side. Pieces of the craft were scattered about the site.
When Mr. Ragsdale looks inside the disc, he sees a chair very similar to an ornate throne. Besides this there are four to five additional small chairs and panels of instruments.
On further examination Mr. Ragsdale discovers four small people, all dead. His description of the small people was; about four feet long, skin somewhat gray feeling wet and slick to the touch.
Rock where UFO supposedly landedThe pair decide to leave the crash site soon after and return at first light. They are there only a short time, when they hear sirens and truck coming their way. The couple picks up some of this debris from the site and rush back to their secluded campsite. From here they watch military vehicles arrive at the crash site. In Mr. Ragsdale's words, "We decided to get the hell out of there." So we headed back to Roswell.
Several days later, Mr. Ragsdale and his girlfriend show the debris to friends at a local Roswell watering hole. Soon afterwards his girlfriend returns to her home in Las Cruces and takes some of this material with her. A few days later, she dies in an auto accident and her pieces of this substance mysteriously disappears.
Mr. Ragsdale also states, his own home was broken into, and the only items taken were a pistol and the crash debris. From that day to the day he died, Mr. Ragsdale according to his own words, felt threatened.
Mr. Glen Dennis was kind enough to give us directions to the Ragsdale crash site. So we take off heading west on highway 246 in search of more evidence. On turning onto the dirt road off highway 246 we past and old water line then little farther on left we see a wide path where the saucer plowed the trees down.

For a good video on the Jim Ragsdale story Roswell - The Naked Truth: The Jim Ragsdale Story, it covers a lot of ground about the incident, there are not many available. It is pretty evident that something years ago came thru knocking down the trees in its path. The large rocks where the saucer hit is the end of the swath cut thru the tall trees. We feel confident that this is the location of Mr. Ragsdale encounter with the Roswell aliens.
From Roswell take highway 246 west toward Arabela. Go about 53 miles to "Boy Scout Mountain" sign turn left on dirt jeep road. The crash site is between the waterline and an old mine, impact site 100 feet or so on left side of jeep road.
